Privacy policy

Who we are

Birmingham Webs is part of Nexar Web Services. Nexar Web Services is responsible for the personal information collected through this website.

For privacy questions or requests, use our enquiry form or call 07872326085. This policy covers Birmingham Webs at birminghamwebs.co.uk.

Information we collect

When you send a website enquiry, we collect the name, email address, telephone number if supplied, town or postcode, selected service and message you enter. Please avoid including sensitive personal information or information about someone else unless it is necessary and you are entitled to share it.

The website also processes technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as your IP address, browser and request information. The enquiry handler uses a short-lived security session, submission tickets and rate-limit records to check requests and prevent repeated or abusive submissions. Rate-limit identifiers are derived from your IP address using a server secret.

If you choose to allow Google Analytics, Google processes information about website visits, pages viewed, interactions, device and browser characteristics, and identifiers used to measure usage. The enquiry form does not deliberately send its field contents to Analytics.

Contacting us by telephone or WhatsApp supplies information through that channel. WhatsApp and your communications providers also handle information under their own terms and privacy policies.

How and why we use information

We use enquiry information to understand your request, respond, prepare quotes and take steps towards providing services you ask about. This processing is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract and, where applicable, to perform an agreed contract.

We also have a legitimate interest in keeping the website secure, preventing spam and abuse, managing correspondence and maintaining appropriate business records. Where a legal obligation requires us to process information, we rely on that obligation.

Optional Google Analytics operates only after you choose to accept it. You can change that choice through the cookie controls below. Rejecting optional Analytics does not prevent you from browsing or using the enquiry form.

Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list. This build does not include Google Ads tracking, online payments or customer registration.

Website services and sharing

Hosting, email and enquiry storage

The website is hosted by Nexar Web Services. Website enquiries are saved in a private WordPress enquiry inbox restricted to authorised administrators. An enquiry notification is sent to the Nexar Web Services enquiry inbox using Nexar Web Services email services. Your email address is used as the reply address so that we can respond to you.

We use access controls and form verification to protect information. No website or email system can promise absolute security. We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared where necessary to provide a service you request or where disclosure is required by law.

Google form protection

The enquiry form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to assess automated or abusive requests. Google receives technical and interaction information for this purpose. Verification is required before an enquiry can be saved or sent. Google form protection is separate from optional Analytics and cannot be disabled using the optional-cookie controls.

See Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The form loads reCAPTCHA through recaptcha.net.

Google Analytics

Where configured, Google Analytics helps us understand which pages people use and how the website can be improved. Its script is blocked until you accept optional Analytics. It is not used here for Google Ads tracking or Google advertising signals.

Google may process information outside the United Kingdom under its applicable data-protection terms and transfer arrangements. Read Google’s privacy information for details of its processing.

Links to other websites

Portfolio links open client websites in a new tab. Those websites have their own privacy and cookie arrangements. We do not embed their live pages or load their tracking simply by displaying portfolio screenshots.

Your information rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to access your personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests and receive certain information in a portable format. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in law.

You can withdraw optional Analytics consent using the controls below. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal. For other requests, use our enquiry form. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data-protection regulator.

Cookies & similar technologies

The website uses necessary storage for cookie preferences and enquiry security. Google form protection is required on the enquiry form. Optional Google Analytics is off until you accept it and a measurement ID has been configured.

Storage used by this website
Service or storage Purpose Choice
Website cookie preferences A first-party preference cookie records your Analytics choice and the current preference revision. Necessary
bws_form_session A first-party, HttpOnly security session binds enquiry submission tickets to your browser. Necessary for the form
Google form protection Google reCAPTCHA helps distinguish legitimate enquiries from automated requests. Its security storage may include _GRECAPTCHA. Required
Google Analytics When accepted and configured, first-party _ga and _ga_* cookies distinguish visits and support usage measurement. Optional
WordPress administration WordPress uses authentication and related cookies when authorised users sign in to manage the website. Necessary for administration

Use the controls below to accept or reject optional Analytics or change your choice later. Withdrawing consent stops Analytics measurement on this page and future loads, and the website attempts to remove its accessible Analytics cookies. It cannot reverse information already sent to Google. You can also remove cookies using your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may stop security or preference features from working.

Manage cookie choices

For provider information, see Google Analytics cookie guidance and Google reCAPTCHA information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when the website’s services or handling of information changes. The date above identifies this version. Material changes to optional-cookie purposes may require a new choice.
